Elle Roy in conversation with Carla CherryWatch the interview4 Qualified Leads in 36 hours / Asked to Submit A Proposal For a 5-6 Figure Job Within 7 Days

Elle Roy runs Coastal Creative Consulting. She plans corporate events, and before going out on her own she ran them for household names including Spotify. She came to Power Offer Consultants to put bigger players in her pipeline, and she had never run an outbound campaign before.

The work was two phases: define the offer, then write one short message and send it to a specific list of big players in her space. The first call was set up within about 24 hours of launch. 4 were on the calendar inside 36 hours, 3 of them on the same Monday.

10 days after launch she had completed all 4 calls. One was with a woman who runs an invitation-only summit in Washington, DC, for thought leaders, people from big corporations and legislators. That conversation was about planning next year's event, and she asked Elle for a proposal.

The interview

Carla: I'm sitting here with Elle Roy of Coastal Creative Consulting. Elle, thank you so much for joining me.

Elle: Appreciate it. Thank you.

Carla: We've been working together, and you just launched your campaign. 10 days after launching, you have completed, not just gotten, but completed 4 interviews. Tell everybody what that was like, this past week, with those rolling in.

Elle: I was really excited to pretty much instantly get some really great responses, lots of interest. I definitely trusted Carla and her team with the process, they're the experts, so I just followed their lead. Almost not even overnight, pretty much right away, I got some really great leads. I had 4 calls set up over the course of about 36 hours, which was a lot. 3 calls on Monday and 1 on Tuesday. Monday was a long day, but it all went really, really well. People were excited, just wanted to learn more, wanted to have some really great discovery and exploratory conversations about what the process would look like working with me, if we're a good potential fit, that kind of thing.

Carla: Out of the 4, you were most excited about one. We won't share the name, because that's in the works right now. What can you share?

Elle: This one woman I was so excited to meet with. She has a very impressive background, and she has put together a big summit in DC to bring various thought leaders and different folks from big corporations and legislators about a really important topic that she's very passionate about. She hosts this big event once a year. She's getting ready to host the 2025 event in a couple of weeks, but she said they'll take a couple of weeks off after the event this year, and then they're already going to start planning the event for next year, which is why she went to speak to me about helping plan that entire event. I guess it takes a year to put together, because these are huge power players across the country and the world that are being brought into this event. It's invitation only. So I could potentially be getting other clients out of this event, building some really great relationships, continuing to strengthen my own network and relationships in the industry. Something else she is wanting some help with is thinking about how to continue to build her community of attendees. So it's not just a, okay, one off, we invite these amazing people, we do this event, and then they leave and no one ever talks to each other again. Community building and relationship building is something that's really important to me, both personally and professionally in my business. So I'm really excited about the potential of working with her.

Carla: I should have said up top that you are an event planner. You've worked with huge household names like Spotify, you've gone out on your own, you're consulting, and you've had some really great gigs so far. But you came to us because you said, I want to increase that pipeline, I want to get some big players too. In our first conversation I said, you have the big names, let's go big. So we're saying 10 days, you've had 4 calls. How long did it take for the very first calls to come in?

Elle: I think I had at least one call set up within 24 hours of when we launched the campaign. I thought it could potentially take a couple of weeks to get people. I think it speaks to the power of what you guys are doing and the process that you have defined. It's a short order message that's going out. It's not this big, long-winded thing, which I am known for being a little wordy, both in speaking and in typing out stuff. So it was really eye-opening that people were just like, oh wait, I want to hear more. And it was a simple message.

Carla: We went through phase one and phase two. We crafted the message with a lot of care, and we sent it out to very specific people who were big players in your space. Within 36 to 48 hours you got 4 calls. Within 10 days you have completed the 4 sales calls and potentially landed a global event, and she already wants her proposal. For anybody who is on the fence, thinking about this investment into their company, what would you say?

Elle: I would say Carla and her team have been really patient with me and reminding me to trust the process. It's a process I wasn't familiar with. I have never done anything like this before, and I think I got scared initially, because it is an investment, like Carla said. I just had to remind myself, trust the process. The results are quick when it happens, but the build-up that you do, it is a very thoughtful process. There's other companies out there that are like, oh, we can have one conversation and then we'll send you this. And it's like, no, that sounds too good to be true, because it is. This is part of a longer game. Do the work, define the offer, start launching the campaign, and then get results quickly because you've taken the time to do that legwork.

Carla: Exactly. The validation process.

Elle: I was nervous and anxious at first, because I'd never done anything like it before. But it works. It certainly works.

Carla: Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I really appreciate you taking this time. We've just started, so this is the beginning, and this is within a week and a half.

Elle: Thank you. Thanks.
