A $120K contract on her first pitch.

Dominique S.Founder, The Ninette CompanyPublishing and author services

Landed a $120K contract on her first offer and first pitch to a publishing house, and has since renewed it.

Dominique S. in conversation with Carla CherryWatch the interview6 Figure Client 120K on 1st pitch!

Dominique S. runs The Ninette Company as a business management consultant. Before the program she was doing virtual assistant and admin work, with the occasional business management job helping authors publish their books. The work was not consistent. It was enough to get by, and her business was not growing.

In the first sit-down with Carla Cherry, inside about 10 minutes, she narrowed what she was selling down to where her strengths actually were. Then came the market research phase, and work on the exact words she would use when she approached Muse Literary.

They said yes. It was a $120,000 contract, the largest she had ever signed, and she has since renewed it. It also let her husband leave his corporate job to run the business he wanted to run.

The interview

Carla Cherry with Dominique S..

Carla

It's Carla Cherry with Power Offer Consultants. I'm sitting here with Dominique S. of The Ninette Company. She is a business management consultant, and she worked with me in the program. Welcome, Dominique. Straight out of the gate, what was your biggest win working with me?

Dominique

In working with you, I was able to contract with the client for the largest contracting job that I had ever received. It was a $120,000 contract, and it completely changed the trajectory of my business.

Carla

Let's talk about where you were before me and where you were after the program.

Dominique

Prior to meeting you, Carla, I was doing virtual assistant admin work with the occasional business management, helping authors publishing their books when I could. The work that I was getting was not super consistent. It was enough to kind of get by, but I wasn't growing in my business or what I was able to offer people. Upon sitting down with you, and really, in our first sit-down meeting, I was able to hone in on where my strengths lie and what I was able to offer to my clientele. And in doing that, we put together what would be something that would make me happy and fulfilled in my business, as well as bringing the income that I really needed to get to where I wanted my business to go. And that was really within the first 10 minutes of us sitting down and talking.

Carla

We move fast. A lot of people come from corporate, where they're used to making pretty decent salaries, and then they start out on their own and they're not quite sure what to offer. What made you sure this was a great offer? And what made Muse Literary say yes to you?

Dominique

In working with you, you helped me hone in on the verbiage that I could say and present to Muse Literary when I was approaching them, and helped me get confident in presenting it. I think the confidence in knowing what you have to offer and how to present it makes all the difference in the world.

Carla

To go a step further back, we worked in the research phase. I tell people we're going to put together your offer in phase 1, we're going to work extensively together, and then you're going to go into phase 2 and do the market research. Can you tell people a little bit about that?

Dominique

In the brainstorming, when we were going through the steps that I would need to take, the guidance that you gave me on the types of people that I needed to reach out to, to look into the market and see that what I wanted to provide was something that was needed, was incredibly helpful.

Carla

What's the difference between having an offer before doing market research and having an offer after doing market research?

Dominique

It's a huge difference. When you have an offer without doing market research, you're, for lack of a better term, grasping at straws. You're putting out there what you think people want. When you do the market research, you're putting out something you know people want. And that makes a difference in how you approach potential clients.

Carla

What can you say that would give people confidence that we are going to get them in touch with the right people, and give them the confidence to go pitch a large offer to a high-end company?

Dominique

It's just how you present yourself. When you present yourself and your business as a way that can help those people, they're naturally drawn to you.

Carla

What was it like when they said yes?

Dominique

It was amazing. By proving that I had the skills and saying it would be beneficial for you as a company to hire me on in this capacity because of X, Y and Z, they sat back and they were like, oh yeah, you're right, it does benefit us.

Carla

And all of that information comes from the market research. If you follow the playbook, all you have to do is follow the steps, and there's a whole different confidence that happens. It puts you in the driver's seat.

Dominique

Yes.

Carla

So you landed the $120,000 contract. What did that do for you and your family?

Dominique

It completely changed. It gave me even more confidence in what I was doing, because it was the highest contract I'd had in terms of what I was doing. And it allowed me to have my husband come home from his corporate job and pursue his dreams on the business that he wanted to run. So that was the biggest thing.

Carla

And you renewed it, right?

Dominique

Yes, we just renewed it. So continuing to go on, and it's great. I love being there.

Carla

What would you say to somebody who was thinking about joining our program?

Dominique

I'd say run, don't walk to join this program. It will completely transform your business as long as you let it and you follow the steps. Believe in what you have to offer people, and use this program to get you to the other side.

Carla

One more question. If somebody comes in and they already have an offer, and they ask what you're going to do differently, what would you say to them?

Dominique

I would say that it helps you. This is one thing that I noticed: it really helped me work in my business rather than on my business. It helped me do the things that I needed to do to excel as a business owner. So many times we forget to do those things. It taught me what I needed to do so that it becomes second nature. So I'm just continuously doing it and growing my company.

Carla

And I would venture to say that we got you to think a lot bigger than you were thinking.

Dominique

Oh yes, 100%. I've had to hire people, which wasn't on my radar originally. After going through this and seeing what was possible, the sky's the limit.

Carla

Thank you so much for joining me. I appreciate you sharing your case study with everybody.

Dominique

My pleasure. Thanks for having me.
